CLASS PROPHECY The times June 24, 1967j The occasions the first reunion of the class of 1957; the places Allen’s Argyle Night Club run by former classmates Carol and Tom Allen. The entertainment is provided by Barb’s Barbarioua Band fea- turing Booming Barb Kuba on the trombone, Rip-Roaring Rhoda on the piano, Hot Lips Harriet on the clarinet and Shake-’Em-Up Shirley on the flute. Die voca- list is Jackie Balfour who has sprouted sideburns and become the second Elvis Presley. As a special feature of the evening, we have the famous dance team, Reba and Carl. They kindly consented to take time from their hectic tour to entertain their classmates. Hie dandelions used for decoration have been fur- nished by Verna’s Florist Shoppe. Now let’s look at the crowd. Who’s that with the dark, curly D.A.? Why it couldn’t be! But it is! Lucy Knowlton. Carolyn Williamson, that well- known professor at Onion, looks sophisticated in her horn-rimmed glasses and her low-cut sheath. It was difficult to persuade Willard to come until he was told that he could bring his wife; then he gladly obliged. However, we had little trouble getting Loren to come. He is always game for free food. Who’s this running around? Why, it’s Lois Kacomber looking for one of our high school faculty members in order to hand in her final homework paper from her senior year. At last the refreshments have arrived. Die liquid refreshments are brought by Bob Hoffer in his bulk tank truck (milk of course) and the food, which was grown on Dave Lufkin s and Bob Brennen's farms, is brought via a new dump truck (Dave’s) which is normally used for drawing gravel. Doris Wilder, a telephone operator, has always been absent-minded and arrives with her ear-phones still attached to her head. Because of a series of freak accidents at the Glens Falls Hospital, nurses 1«n Barnhardt anri Karen Holcomb were released from their duties and are able to attend our reunion. Believe it or not, the life of the party is that well-known Washington County auctioneer, Gordon McWhorter. Who are the two dressed in white bandages? Why, it is those famous test drivers for the Ford Motor Company, Bette the Streak and Joan the Jet. They arrived from Albany in a mere ten minutes to be with their classmates. We are told that everyone is present except Barb Hood. From outside we hear the roar of a motor. We run to the door and see Barb just arriving in her new Caddie. She explains that she purchased it with money left to her by her fifth husband who died two days before she married her sixth husband. Now we are «11 watching the fine performance. All at once we see an unexpected attraction. Sheila has insisted that her 14 little brats do a tap dance for us. She always was good at mathematics. AH in all, this reunion has been a big success and we have enjoyed seeing our high-school classmates again. We have made a resolution to have a similar reunion again in 1977.
