CLASS HISTORY On September 4, 194-5, 49 boys and girls entered into a new world when they enrolled in the first grade at Argyle Central School. We gained and lost members all through our school years and now we are graduating with a class of 26. Our first exciting experience was our fifth grade class picnic. Mrs. MacAuley took us to Lake Lauderdale. A new experience awaited us when we entered the seventh grade. It was rush, rush, rush from one class to another, and we had to learn the names of all the teachers and also room numbers. This year we took a class trip to Fort Ticonderoga. Because of our large number, 41, we were divided in the eight grade. We visited our state Capitol this year and also witnessed the Elks Parade in Albany. We sponsored our first class dance the next year and made $110. Mr. Russell and Miss Kennedy were our class advisors and have remained in that capacity through our high school years. Our ninth and tenth grades were quiet years, and we busied ourselves trying to raise money for our Washington trip. In the eleventh grade Mr. Russell and Miss Kennedy assisted us in pre- paring food for the football, games. The great joy of our Junior year was the purchasing of class rings. We looked at scores of beautiful rings and finally decided upon our choice. As was the custom, we treated the class of '56 to a picnic at Lake Sunnyside. Another high-light of our Junior year was the Junior-Senior Prom with Garry Stevens and his orchestra. Our Senior year was, of course, our busiest and most exciting one. In the fall Miss Kennedy was married and became Mrs. Dan Parker. Mrs. Parker has guided us through such ordeals as the ordering of graduation announce- ments, caps and gowns, and the numerous small duties in preparation for our senior trip. Our senior play, entitles Where's Laurie? , was held on Nov. 15 and 16, 1956, and was a huge success. On April 6, 1957, 24 happy seniors left Argyle bound for New York and Washington and a good time.
