FAREWELL From the Class of 1981 Four years is a long lime --too long lo forget. We look around and ask --where did it go? We worked, we played -but for four years? Then we look the other way -into tomorrow . Suddenly we're not so tall as we thought we were And not so smart. But we find that somehow We learned a decisive lesson-- something we wouldn’t have had without the teachers and administration, without our fellow students -a direction into that uncertain tomorrow. It can never be so dark again Though the world may change and the times change and we change. It’s hard for anyone to move from one city to another, but here I was moving to a different con- tinent. In addition, I would be by myself, or at least until I got to know my family and made friends. But all my worries were pointless because I found people, specially at school, willing and eager to help me and adjust to America and Argenta. Each day I feel more like a part of your society, I get to understand and get along with people better; the only thing that was on my way is that some people were scared of getting close to me be- cause they knew I was leaving soon. But, anyway, I made really good friends here, friend I’ll never forget and will have forever. I hope I can come back one day to see all oi you and A-O High School that now is my school too. Every day the Student Council had something planned for them to take part in. The students had a chance to compete between classes and with the faculty. The activities were: Monday, hat and sun- glasses: Tuesday, punk rock and chariot and centipede races: Wednesday, bum day and tug- of-war: Thursday, class and necklaces and class skits: Friday, orange and blue day along with the pep assembly. The daily activities were not all that the stu- dents were active in: they also built floats the whole week. With the theme being “Fairy Tales,” prizes for floats were given to sophomores for first place, juniors for second place, freshmen for third place, and seniors for fourth place. On Thursday night the traditional bonfire took place, and on Friday the Bombers played the Farmer City Blue Devils. Even though the Bombers lost the game 3-7, they played a great game. On Saturday night the Argenta-Oreana Royal- ty were crowned: Tammy Sinkosky and Marty Hiser were the new queen and king. They were crowned by retiring queen Shara Cochran and retiring king Gary Pool. The dance followed the coronation with “Goliath” providing the music. As the years pass, homecoming will remain in the memories of Bomber fans, both young and old, as a time to express our Bomber pride.
