Dedication We the yearbook staff of 1976-77 dedicate this edition of the Pilot to the 1976-77 Argenta-Oreana Bomber Football team and its coaches. The 1976 Bomber football squad has to be considered the best football team in Argenta's football history. Along ■with its 11-1 record, it was also the first time Argenta- Oreana completed an undefeated regular season, the first time A-O H. S. participated in the I. H. S. A. state playoff series, the first time the Bombers achieved a football conference championship, and the first time a member of the Argenta-Oreana High School football team has received All-state honors. Coach Ron Banion said it best when he said, 'The Bomb- er team, fans, and coaches should be congratulated for and satisfied with their athletic efforts. The team success cannot be measured in yards gained, touchdowns scored, or post season honors, but in the fact that in 1976, Argen- ta-Oreana High School was lucky enough to have a group of talented individuals who were willing to work, hurt, and sacrifice for the single good of forming a championship calibre football team. The memories of the season and all the people who made these memories possible will be treasured by all of us for the rest of our lives.

 ---------------- Too Soon a Memory Memories are what we did yesterday and what we shall do today, living for us tomorrow through thoughts and dreams. Through the memories of our high school years, we shall always hear the crowd at the basketball games, shrilly begging for a victory; the grinding clock as it marks each moment until the piercing bell announces the end of anoth- er day; the full richness of the chorus. We shall smell the grease paint on the first night of that all-important play; the formaldehyde oozing from the specimen in biology, the pungency of turpentine in art class; the stifling odor of am- monia in chemistry. We shall see the football team making a crucial goal; the curtains slowly parting to reveal a sur- prise-filled stage; and the band glistening in the sun as they practice on the football field. We shall again feel that special warmth we felt as we rose to our feet to spur the Bombers on with the school song; the uncertainty of exam week; and the mixture of excitement and melancholy at graduation. These memories will be surrounded by the vapor of time and gilded with sentiment, but they shall never be extin- guished. Everything that was memorable about our school years has been recorded on the pages of The Pilot to be aug- mented against the weight of age. This school year has had a special meaning for each student and faculty mem- ber of Argenta-Oreana High School. It has been a year full of hopes, gains, losses, laughter, tears, new friendship and knowledge--a year which has become too soon a memory.
