He was born in Newman, 111., where he graduated from high school. He then attended Eastern Illinois Univer- sity where he received his B.S. degree in Education. He then received his M.S. degree in Education from the University of Illinois. He married Ruth Thompson in 1945. They have one daughter Sheron and a granddaughter. He was chiefly responsible for the experimental grant used in the high school. He also was involved in the demonstration center for gifted chil- dren in kindergarten. For these things we sincerely thank you. The A.O.H.S. student body Harold A. Miller In dedicating this yearbook to you, Mr. Miller, we hope to extend our sincere gratitude for all your services and pa- tience in the past years. We believe you have contributed to the success of the students and graduates of A.O.H.S. 4 '-a r I ' ' is S i y f jfXZ 1 , ' ■ ' • . ' 7uf .. £ • ' ■y y' v? • , , V,u, - H,U, fi)'L y vf u.' Student Council Through the leadership of President Mike Creamer, the Stu- dent Council has completed an- other outstanding year as A-O’s governing body. Among the Council’s accom- plishments during 1968-69 were the staging of the Christmas Dance, the Valentine Dance, and. of course, the entire plan- ning of homecoming. The Coun- cil members also continued to operate the student store; and the coat check at basketball games. The tape race, sponsored to help raise funds for a foreign ex- change student, was again a suc- cess. As a conclusion to the race, cream pies were given to Mr. Mosier and Mr. Kimler. Mr. Alva Kimler has been teaching at A-0 for the past 15 years and for the last 10 years has served as Student Council sponsor. The Student Council is continually a success because of Mr. Kimler’s guidance and hard work. 25 Mr. Mosier got his SI 50 pie. First row: Mr. Wolf, G. Wilkey, R. King, K. Doane. D. Cunningham, T. Homecoming The Argenta-Oreana Homecom- ing is always a happy affair to which everyone looks forward. The parade, the game, the crowning of the King and Queen, and the dance, again made Homecoming a gala affair. The morning of October 12, started off with the Homecoming Parade. The senior’s of 1969 came through with the first place float. Second place went to the GAA, and third to the juniors. That afternoon everyone looked forward to our homecoming game against the Lakeview Spartans. Unfor- tunately, we lost-but, if at first you don't succeed try, try again. The last event of the day was the coronation and dance. At precisely 8:35, Greg Wilkey and Pat Wiegard walked to the throne to be crowned King and Queen of the 1968 Home- coming. After the coronation, the “Jokers” provided us with music for our dance. All in all it was a very memorable day. 34 35 WORLD PEACE A-0 Marching Band A-0 vs. Lakeview 2nd place GAA 3rd Place Junior Class Special Achievement Award Lion's Club 1st Place Senior Class Elegant dining facilities.
