H I STORY As co-judges MRS. KIRBY and MR. KIMLER gaveled for silence. Prosecuting Attorney LYNN ROBERTS and Defense Attorney LARRY McCONKEY rose and began the trial of CAROL PETERSON. Reporter RITA WILKS took notes of the sensational proceedings. The prosecutor introduced Homecoming Attendants DAVID FOMBELLE and JUDY ADAMS as witnesses. Upon cross-examination, the defense attorney found Cheerleader RITA WILKS and Student Council Members LYNN ROBERTS and CAROL PETERSON to be implicated in the plot. But it was get- ting late, and the co-judges adjourned the session until next year. When court was resumed, new judges had been chosen. They were MR. WOLF and MISS PARKS, and Attorney LYNN ROBERTS had a new as sistant--GUY ALLEN. The defense at- torney had been changed; he was DAVID CAMFIELD. DAVID FOMBELLE and JUDY ADAMS were recalled, and they brought RITA BOYD and GUY ALLEN for moral support. Then Cheer- leaders JUDY ADAMS and RITA WILKS took the stand and told how Council Members JOAN KRUSE, LYNN ROBERTS and CAROL PETERSON lad related the proceedings to them. A mis- trial was called. When we next saw the court-room, another new set of judges was present: MR. BROWN and MRS. VERNER. They were conducting the trial of President LARRY McCONKEY, Vice Presi- dent ROGER DRAKE, and Secretary LEON BRYANT. These officers of the Junior Glass Com- pany had been accused of negligence by Attendants GUY ALLEN, DAVID FOMBELLE, and JUDY ADAMS. (Because LEON BRYANT is in cahoots with the accused, he couldn't testify against himself. ) Actress CAROL PETERSON, whose hit Behind This Mask has wowed audiences over the nation, was called as witness for the prosecution. But the sensational Cheerleaders RITA WILKS and JOAN KRUSE soon took the court's attention from CAROL. When defense introduced Council Members DAVID FOMBELLE, LEON BRYANT, and LOIS TANNER, he won his case. He was given a ride on the first-prize-winning float, Reaching for Victory. Later he was invited to the Masonic Temple where he participated in the Junior-Senior Prom. During the next year, only one disagreement occurred. That was when MR. WILKEY tried to persuade MRS. PETTY to hide in his bowling bag when he heard tint the seniors had elected LAPRY McCONKEY, JOAN KRUSE, and MARY TURNER as class officers; and that heand Mrs. PETTY were to be sponsors. But everything turned out alright because Cheerleaders RITA WILKS and JOAN KRUSE, Council Members SANDRA MA THES, LARRY McCONKEY, DAVID FOMBELLE, and LEON BRYANT have worked together to make theirs the best senior class yet! The only court case during that time was a debate as to which of those two fine actresses, CAROL PETERSON or JOAN KRUSE, would get the Academy Award for their portrayal of Linda in The Perfect Idiot. Believe it or not, the award was cut in half and each girl got part of it. The male award went to DAVID FOMBELLE for his realistic portrayal of Dan in the same play. PR OPHECV The Argenta Class of 1961 requests the honor of your presence at their Tenth Annual Reunion on March 12, 1971, at two-thirty o'clock in the Argenta High School Cafeteria. So read the invitation Mr. Wilkey opened while going through the morning's mail. He was at that time with the Benny Goodman Band in New York. Today is the eleventh, thought Mr. Wilkey. I will have to take a plane in order to get there on time. As he boarded the jet airplane, the pilot introduced himself as TED DISBROW and his stew- ardess as BETTY AYERS. Ted started out building rockets, but now he owns his own jet airline. They made only one stop, and that was to pick up Mrs. Petty who now owns her own college for girls' physical education teachers. She had gotten an invitation, too. As they arrived at Argenta's new jet airfield, they saw a taxi. Immediately they recognized GARY CUNNINGHAM (better known as Gern) as the driver. Gary offered his services. My, what an odd looking vehicle, exclaimed Mrs. Petty. What do you call it? Mr. Wilkey asked Gary. Well, Gern said, I sort of invented it myself. I call it my Mot'l A. As it was nearly noon, they thought they should get some lunch. Gern told them that there were three very good restaurants in town: Largent's Larder, Bonnie Bell's and Adams' Drive-In owned and operated by ELAINE LARGENT, BONNIE FARKAS and JUDY ADAMS respectively. They decided on the Drive-In. While they were waiting for their order, they realized that the yelling, screaming manager of curb-hops was none other than ROGER SCHAFER. After eating they decided to take in a movie. Mrs. Petty called Mr. Wilkey's attention to the names above the entrance of the Down-Town Theater and commented that some of the A. C. H. S. alums musthave made it to Hollywood. The first movie, Some Like it Cold, starred LYNN ROBERTS and SANDRA MATHES. As a sneak preview, The Globe Trotters, proved to be quite a thrilling movie. The story described a growing career being developed by KENNY AYERS. He advanced from a basketball manager to a sensational playing coach. A few of his outstanding discoveries were: ROGER DRAKE, center; DAVID FOMBELLE and LEON BRYANT , forwards; GUY ALLEN and DERWOOD WHITE, guards. Co-stars, RITA WILKS and JOAN KRUSE were varsity cheerleaders for the team. After the show, Mr. Wilkey and Mrs. Petty took a look around town. A sign on the side of the supermarket was being painted by GENE GAWTHORP. Posing for the advertisement for HAROLD PHILLIPS'Sunshine Dairy Wagon was KATHE FERRIL holding a glass of milk. Further down the street they were stopped by a train on the track. The engineer was waving, frantically trying to get their attention. CAROLYN JACOBY had noticed Mr. Wilkey and Mrs. Petty. As the train slowed down, Mr. Wilkey saw TERRY EVANS and NOEL CULLISON hopping on a freight car. They yelled to say that they were on their way to join the foreign legion. The train was a long one, so Mr. Wilkey turned on the radio to find some music. Turning past a station he recognized the driving beat of RICK LUCKENBILL's drums. He was doging a national com- paign against hillbilly music. Mrs. Petty was disturbed by this and changed the station to find something to her liking. The disc jockey was announcing RICK CRAIG's latest record, Hill- billy Heaven. Gern wasn't impressed with either of their tastes in music, so he switched the station to a more educational program. Mr, Wizard , was just beginning his program. Mr. Wizard (BOB REED) and his guest, AARON SARGENT, were working crossword puzzles designed by the great intellects. MARY TURNER, JOY ROLOFSON and CAROL PETERSON. By this time the train has passed, and they were confronted by DAVID CAMFIELD and RON GRIDER each coming from the wrong direction on a one-way street. Mr. Wilkeyand Mrs. Petty weren't surprised whey they told them they had failed a driver-training course taught by SHARON DIXON and SANDRA VOYLES. Gern, acknowledging a losing battled, turned his taxi back toward A. C. H. S. LARRY McCONKEY, manager of the class of 61 ran screaming out of the gym door. BAR- BARA MINGS, my secretary forgot to mail out the invitations to the members of our class when she mailed your invitations, he gasped as he collapsed.Luckily, the school nurse, RITA BOYD, was on hand to apply first aid.
