Senior (listor In the fall of 1947, forty-two stared freshmen entered rhe Argenta High School. The officers for that year were Dolores Boyce, president; Madonna York, vice-president; and Ellen Agee, secretary-treasurer. Nineteen girls were in F. H. A. and twenty boys partici- pated in F. F. A. Ellen Agee and Joan Stiles were the queen attendants. Lee Craft, Jack Benton, Gerald Dalton, and James York were active in sports, and Marvin Cain was a member of the First Ten. When the class enrolled for their sophomore year, it had lost only two members and the enrollment amount to forty. The students serving as officers in 1948-49 were as follows: President, Marilyn Zindar; Vice-President. Dolores Boyce; and Secretary-Treas- urer, Madonna York. During this year the class was more active in school activities. Eight class members participated in chorus and five were active in band. The ARGENOIS staff claimed seven members and two served on the PILOT staff. James York, Marvin Cain, Gerald Dalton, and Gene Clark were outstanding in sports and were a part of the First Ten. Dolores Boyce and Marilyn Zindar were chosen queen attendants for the homecoming. The enrollment of the junior class dropped to thirty-two. The officers were Lynn Whitson, president; Gerald Dalton, vice-president; and Dolores Boyce, secretary-treas- urer. Several girls and boys were in F. H. A. and F. F. A. Five members were in chorus and LaVerne Hebei was pianist. Donna Walker and Deloris Kopp were chosen queen attendants. The class play. Off the Track, was presented April 6, 1950, under the direction of Mrs. Frances Freemen. Those in the cast were Dolores Boyce, Donna Walker, Pearl McCoy, Ellen Agee, Verna Banning, Deloris Kopp, LaVerne Hebei, Marilyn Zindar, Carroll Querrey, Gary Smalley, Gerald Dalton, Robert Skinner, and Marvin Cain. On April 28, 1950, the junior-senior banquet was presented in honor of the senior class under the sponsorship of Mrs. Pauline Verner and Mr. Donald Sullivan, the class sponsors. On September 1, 1950, twenty-seven seniors enrolled for their final year. The officers chosen were Dolores Boyce, Marilyn Zindar, and Joanne Turner as president, vice-presi- dent, and secretary-treasurer, respectively. Every senior was proud of their four classmates. Gerald Dalton, Jack Walters, Marvin Cain, and Lee Cafr, who helped win rhe Macon County Touney. Several members of the class received honors during the year. Dolores Boyce was president of F. H. A. and the homecoming queen. Donna Walker and Joan Stiles were the queen's attendants. Carroll Querrey served as F F. A. president. Ellen Agee was the winner of the D. A. R. award, and as in previous years, many of the mem- bers were well represented in all school activities. The senior play. Grandma Goes To Town, was presented on October 27, 1950, under the direction of Mrs. Margaret R Weaver. Donna Walker. Dolores Boyce, Joan Stiles, Ellen Agee, Joanne Turner, Verna Banning, Marilyn Zindar. Phyllis Mullins, Gerald Dalton, Gary Smalley, and Robert Skinner made up the cast.
