The senrors prcked for therr presentatron a lularrous comedy Gert1e's Uncle by Robert St Clatr The play was grven on November 2 and from the laughs heard throughout the entrre play we deem rt was a Success The play begrns rn the home of Mrss Ursula and Mrss Brrdre Trueblood CCarolyn Peck and Roseanne Ruppelj Mass Ursula rs the elder of the two sprnsters tall unbendtng domrneermg and defrnrtely a man hater' Mrss Brrdre rs a trmld soft spoken creature whose entire life has been dommated by her older srster They have ln l'hC1.l' employ Irene Borden CSherry Peckj who rs rather a prrvrleged character and generally says what she thrnks Gertrude Lombard CColleen Roeggej rs an orphan who lrves wrth the Truebloods The netghbors are nosy and gossrpy Sarah Eggert CBetty Splcerj and Erruly Johnson CCharlene Lrppertj They aren tmtentronal trouble makers but they certarnly cause Gertre a 'heap of trouble As the plot unfolds we frnd that Gertre s boyfrrend Nelson Adams fRay Schmtkerj rs gorng away and Gertre has to see htm But the Truebloods do not allow men rn the house A consprracy forms between Gertie and Irene It Lnvolves Irene s daughter Jackre a college grrl fliarlrne until yes you guessed itl The real Uncle Henry fNorman Westj appears on the scene' Needless to say the Trueblood household IS almost a mad house' But then Sherrff Hicks fNorman Westj mtervenes and helps to strarghten out Gertre s tangled affarrs Mrss Ursula decrdes that men aren t such horrrble beasts after all and rn slsts upon Gertre s rmmedrate marrrage And then we suppose they all lrve happlly ever after J Corntn Round the Mountarn xsathree act play about hillbilly lrfe Maw and Paw Skltter and therr family are typrcal hrllbrlly characters who have arranged a marriage for theu beautrful daughter Comey Bell to a bachelor neighbor Sammy Fester But Comey Bell has drfferent rdeas She has fallen rn love wrth a handsome resorter from the outsrde and the family decide to grt him rf they have to use a shotgun, Meanwhile Curly is in love with a model out uf the Rears and Sawbuck Catalog The climax to the play shows Comey Bell getting ready to marry Bob Thecastts as follows Maw Skltter Karla Hart Paw Skitter Max Beard Curly Skrtter Don Nickel Comey Bell Skrtter Vugrrna Klelnschmidt Dizzy Mae Skitter, Barbara Parkerson Zeke Skrtter Everett Allen Ellie Lou De Funny Elta Mullens Sammy Fester Larry Janssen Robert Bruce John Crawford Edward Small Davis Carls, Carol Hughes, Maxrne Strickler, Doris Dean, Althea Frrcke.
