Rina ehng we nano A magaz1ne rack of natural f1n1sh was also added to the room Thanks to the Agr1culture boys who made lt The g1rls ref1n1shed the wood The Homemakmg I students held open house on February 6 for e people 1n the commun1ty as a cllmax to the1r study of part1es Homernakmg II has worked r1ght along th1s year In the1r foods un1t they have learned much about meats Mr Zulauf the local butcher has cut up the var1ous parts of an1mals, so the g1rls could v1sual1ze where the PIECE of meat they cooked came from A tr1p was taken through a nearby meat pack1ng plant, and the g1rls them selves demonstrated the var1ous methods of cooklng meat Th1s 1S only one phase of the1r stud1es Homemakmg III of th1s year 1S the class that was added that we d1d not have last year The g1rls are spend1ng half a year 1n cook1ng and the other half 1n sew1ng Th1s IS unusual 1n that generally they study many un1ts besldes cool-ung and Sewlng Two new sewmg machmes a new steam 1ron, and a new broom closet have been added to our department An adult class of women that meets at n1ght 1S also underway Th1s IS under the capable d1rect1on of Mrs Warren Sm1th of Chap1n The women are sew1ng The adult classes hope to contmue next year Our Future Homemakers of Amerlca, the Homemakmg Club 15 progressmg th1s year We have as our theme Excels1or w1th F H A wh1ch means h1gher F H A has composed a commun1ty cook book to be sold th1s year Our latest and newest venture 15 havmg student teachers from Carthage College We have been honored to be chosen as a good commun1ty to help new teachers to become profess1onal 1n the1r bus1ness of school teach1ng Z8 . . , . . .
