Senior Class Carnival Left to R1ght Janet Dahman Mar1lee Joeckel Richard Lovekamp Marllyn Burrus Vera Hen dncker Don Kolberer Gary Hansme1er and Mark Abernathy The Semor Class of 50 held the 4th annual carn1val on February ll 1n the hlgh school gym To start off the even1ng a ch1l1 supper was served at 5 o clock by the mothers of the Senror class 1n the hot lunch room The gyrn was decorated w1th streamers of purple whlte and yellowcrepe paper and streamers of ballons hung from the l1ghts The stage was decorated w1th purple and wh1te crepe paper The gyrn opened at 6 15 and the many concesslons were kept busy Some of these were ducks on water darts f1sh1ng pond football throw rums of Chma, and refreshment stand A program cons1st1ng of vocal nunfmbers readmgs, baton twlrlmg sluts 1n the L1ttle Theatre a style show entertamment by Mr Habben and a mystery play was g1ven Th1s program began at 7 30 Byron T1eman acted as master of ceremomes P1ng Pong was played and danc1ng to recorded musxc cont1nued throughout the ent1re evenlng The event most looked forward too took place at 9 30 the crownlng of the queen The queen s court consrsted of the follow1ng g1rls and themr escorts Katy Carls, Clyde McCloud Rosalle Roegge, Ray Leon Schmtker Jean Roegge Norman West Melba Mason R1chard Fr1cke Opal Beard Roland Carls Jean Nordslek Jac k Hansme1er Elo1se Roegge Paul Klre n sc hm 1dt .Tuamta Tegeder Melvm Wessler Manlyn Burrus R1chard Lovekamp Mar1lyn Rcegge Don Wessler The flower g1rls were Janet Dahman and Mar1l1e .Toeckel They wore green organdy formals The tralnberers were Gary Hansme1er and Mark Abernathy They wore black trousers whlte shrrts and black bow t1es The queen of 1949 Vera Hendr1cker who was escorted by Don Kolberer wore the trad1t1onal cape of purple l1ned w1th wh1te sat1n She crowned the queen of 1950 Marllyn Burrus, and presented her w1th a strand of pearls P1ctures were then taken of the court After the crownmg of the queen the streamers of ballons were cut loose and the door pllzes were g1ven away The carmval was a great success and we feel sure that everyone had a good t1me even the Semors 34 : ' I 1 1 I ' 1 1 1 0 . , . - . . . . , ' a . , . . 2 : ' .
