Sophomore Class History September of 1949 found us back agam much w1ser but rnmus two classmates who were Charles H1vely and M1ldred Sp1cer The f1rst class meetmg was held and the followmng offlcers were elected Ray Schmtker Presxdent Norman West V1ce Presldent Carolyn Peck Secretary Colleen Roegge Treasurer Clyde McCloud Student Counc1l Representatlve As usual we gave the freshmen a rous1ng welcome at the 1n1t1at1on party The b1g event ofthe year was the one act play Last N1ght s Paper g1ven on March 17 Those 1n the cast were Norman West Ray Schnxtker Carolyn Peck Colleen Roegge Roseanne Ruppel and Russell Wmkelman The rest of the members of the class were on var1ous commlttees Freshman Class History On September 1 1949 twenty two freshman appeared 1n the assembly Of the twenty two e1ght graduated from Trmty Lutheran School th1rteen from Arenzv1lle Grade School and the others from rural schools In the m1ddle of October Marxlyn Mullens came from V1rg1n1a to Arenzv1lle wh1ch made the freshmen class have twenty three members At the f1rst class meetmg the followmg offmcers were elected Althea Fr1cke as Pre s1dent Marshal Manker as V1ce preszdent V1rg1n1a Kle1nschm1dt as Secretary Maxme Str1ctler as Treasurer and Mrs Norvm Foster as class Advlsor Althea Fncke was also elected as Student Counc1l representat1ve On September Z3 1949 the sophomores gave us an 1n1t1at1on party We had to do sllly tr1cks but everyone had a good t1me 18 o ., . . , : 1. . . n .
