Class Prophecy Asl was watching my telev1s1on set last eveningl saw Eloise Roegge singing Stardust at the Municipal Opera in St Louis Before she finished her song someone rang the door bell It was Byron Tiemann the Fuller Brush Man He told me he had stopped at the Stock Cafe and had dinnerwith the prop1eter Mrs Mar1lyn Roegge Stock After he left Ipicked up the paper and saw where R1chardLovekamp famous pianist at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York had been 1n a car accident He was taken to anearby hospital and 1S under the care of his special nurse, Marilyn Burrus R N In the advertising section of the paper I read where there was going to be a Closing Out Sale Melv1n Wessler was to be the auctioneer Also in the advertisement column I read about the new car run by atomic power which had recently been put on display by the 1nventor Richard Ruppel I glanced at the Sports Edition and saw where Don Wessler had Just been voted outstanding football player on the Notre Dame team They had won five games so far in the season As it was about 5 00 o clock I thought I had better go down town and get the mail As I passed the threatre I saw that the coming attraction As I went 1nto the Post Office I met Roberta Carls She mentioned that she and Juanita Tegeder were busily taking care of their beauty shop She says lt 1S one trade wh e r e they will never r un out of bus 1ness Paul Kleinschmidt was the Post Master Can you imagine that And everyone thought he would be one of Hollywood s greatest stars We were talking about some of the classmates and he told me Edward Dufelme1er was a scientist in the laboratories of the Research Hospital in Chicago and his sister, Melba was an Enghsh teacher in the Junior H1gh She is doing well with her f1rst year of teaching Paul also told me that .TeanNords1ek 15 a stenographer at the capital 1n Washington, D C By the way of the grape v1neI heard that Jean Roegge is manager of the Villa Grove Lodge and 1n her spare time she is teaching 1ce skating and Skllng Like me you have probably wondered what happened to Ralph Beard He 15 now the world s greatest tight wire walker with Ringling Brothers Circus Now that I have caught up on all the latest news of the classmates I had better go home and turn on my television set so I will not miss the great Broadway actor Roland Carls, g1v1ng his most famous play Patty 12 was Dial 76Z and Clarice Hierman was playing the leading role.
