'I h Front row Tony Morettl Robert Edmunds joseph Cleary Joseph Paler mo Stanley Benedict Top row john Delmerxco Manager Joseph Calace Mottola Christopher DeFeo Eugene Grandolh Mr Charles Horend Coach Absent Frank Conover Captam VARSITY BASKETBALL The first week ln November brought out about thlrty five boys for pOSltlOUS on the basketball team Thmgs looked promlsmg wlth five returmng letter men ready for the firmg lme Through weeks of gruellng practlce under the able guxdance of coach Chuck Horend the team rapxdly shaped together Strlvmg to obtam the perfectlon that accompamed last years Cham plonshlp team the varslty Blue and Gold work ed long and hard F1rst test came on December 15 when Br1arcl1H was met and defeated on the loser s court Hard luck then hlt the team as Commerce Dobbs Ferry Bronxvllle and the New York School for the Deaf all conquered Only Elmsford fell under the local s spell But better games were ahead for the boys seemed to End themselves late m Janu ary and began to show the type of playmg they were capable of Elmsford agaln was beaten then Irvmgton Greenburgh and the New York School for the Deaf all felt the stmg of Ardsley s power Wlth the team ln hxgh sp1r1ts all look forward to a successful completlon of the season and the tr1 county champxonshxp 1n early March at the County Center m Whxte Plams.
