SENIOR CLASS ln September l939 the largest Fresh man Class in the history of Ardsley High School entered its imposing por tals and began its high school career Of necessity the group was divided into two classes an Academic and a Business section each having its sepa rate home room The students expressed their amaze ment at the amount of independence expected of the new Freshmen be cause prior to their entrance into high school they had been thoroughly looked after by grade teachers During the Freshman year the classes held a joint food sale to aug- ment their Washington Trip Fund which was already uppermost in their minds. This activity was a joint one because the two classes hoped to merge later on. Sophomore year found the two classes sponsoring a cake sale which was quite successful. The class had be- come veterans and consequently began looking down on the new crop of Freshmen. Then, in their Iunior year, the class was rather anxious to do something just a little bit different from other years. ln October we presented a Gay Nine- ties Night, the first of its kind in Ardsley. This was received by an our classmates participated in the guise of the l89U s Our Senior year was marked by the fact that the two classes merged and became one However our number dwindled down to 32 because of the changing conditions and aspects of the future ln November our class was sad dened by the death of a classmate of two years Robert Henning In April we presented an amusing comedy Best Foot Forward which further swelled our Washington Trip Fund. As we near the climax of our four years in high school a touch of re- morse enters the picture. We look forward to going in search of new com- panions and experiences although we must leave more familiar places be- hind. Graduation Day while one of our happiest days will be tinged with re- gret for all we are leaving behind. We wish to express our sincere ap- preciation to our adviser Miss Buell who has so faithfully guided us through this, our last, year. Our four years in high school shall remain forever brilliant in our memo- ries. -EVELYN BROWN s K W I D --,st S sw V W f , :gg I ' ,X QQ- - X F 412K ' ' T , , - appreciative audience, and many of
