9 2 AHS 942 NIOR CLA Let your mmd lapse back ID tlme for thlrty years when Ardsley consisted of a dozen or so famllles on the Herghts and ln the Vlllage Her slze was expandlng and a new publlc school was needed lt was ln 1912 that the corner stone for thus bulldmg our present school was lard Wlthln these rvy covered walls many asplratlons and ambltlons have flourished and each successxve gradu 'xtmg class has carrred on the sprrlt of loyalty honor and ove lt s much easler however to let our mmd drnft back only a few years four to be exact and recall what Ardsley was luke when we the class of 1942 entered the final stretch of our educatlon rn the publlc school Staunchly and proudly we entered Hugh School the land of our dreams True mdeed we were bewrldered 'xt fnrst but we were off with Flymg colors drsplaymg our eager splrlt of wrllmgness to work and achxeve Our first achievement was the wmnlng of the twenty five dollar bwope Award The Swope Award was presented for the accurate portrayal of community life we chose to cover lrfe In Ardsley centerlng around our school We also seemed to have an excellent and skillful method of entlclng our parents from thelr flresldes on Monday evenings to the P T A meetings for we suc ceeded ln wlnnmg the P T A awards each month for almost two years Food sales and occaslonal movles were the projects undertaken to augment our class treasury for our ultrmate reward the Washington trlp So passed our frrst two years Enthuslastlcally we assumed the annual endeavor of the unlors the production of the ARDSLEYAN A better book for the enjoyment of the hugh school pupxls and not proflt alone was our desire Wnth the unturmg ard an cooperation of Nllss Clayton Miss Robbre lVl1ss Davis and Mr Dulce and the entire staff our efforts were realized an apprecxated by the student body The Senior subscrxptlon campaign was launched early thus year the results surpassed our fondest expectatrons The fever left behmd by last year s Seniors proved others on the eve of March 20 Yes lt was Sprung Fever a hllarlous three act farce Then wlll come the sudden climax graduatron day As we march slowly down the aisle our eyes wlll be shut to the envrous students and proud boastful parents Dur mg thls short mterlude we wlll rellve the pleasures and anxletles of our hugh school days and cherish more fully the careful guidance and advice so often given by our prlnclpal and teachers The Senrors wxsh to express thelr gratxtude and apprecratlon to their advlser lVl1ss Buell who has so falth fully gulded them throughout the year These four memorable years at Ardsley Hugh shall never be forgotten 1 I - , , S E S S ' 1 ' X ' 0 l . .
