I9l2 -1--q AHS ----- --- 1942 FRESHMAN R One bright sunny morning early in September a group of us, former eighth grade students, packed into the high school hall: at last we were freshmen. We scattered here and there, whispering and wondering just where we were to go. Finally the word was passed around that we were to go to the Drawing Room. lnto the Drawing Room we filed, or- should l say--shoved. We settled down, and the roll was taken by our new teacher, Miss Robbie: thirty-one pupils were present. A fcw weeks later a new student. Carol Meyer, was added to our class, thus making it thirty-two. High school work seemed quite different from grammar school work, but we soon got accustomed to it. When the magazine subscription campaign began, all of Freshman R got right down to business and won tive dollars for selling the most maga- zines. Wlillianm Borchers sold the most in our class with his sales totaling thirty-seven dollars. The following class officers were chosen: President, Lila MacLeod, Vice-President, Frank Conover, Secretary, Edith Holscher: Treasurer, ,lean McGregor. We've kept these officers also for the second term. Freshman R is represented in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, llonor Society, Cheerleading Squad, and junior Varsity. Edith llolscher, Secretary.
