Robert Henning, a new student, was wel- comed by all. Our hrst class project, a joint project with the Junior B class, was a new type of program called Gay Nineties Night. It met with great success due to the hard work and excellent cooperation of all those involved. This pro- gram seemed to fall in line with the theme of our yearbook. lt seems appropriate that our class should have chosen the theme The Thirtieth Anniversary of Ardsley High School for the ARDSLEYAN, since it is represented by two pupils whose parents were enrolled in the high school at that time. These classmates are: ,lanyce Fritche, whose mother was then a pupil here, and Arthur McCartney, both of whose parents were members of the first graduating class. We are eagerly looking forward to next year, when, as Seniors, we hope to continue the good work already begun. Lily Gubler. We elected officers as follows: Evelyn Brown, President: Thomas DeMuro. Vice-president: Domenica Arone, Treasurer: and Anna- belle Hogan, Secretary. We joined with the Junior C Class in our year's projects, a Gay Nineties Night and the publication of the ARDS- LEYAN. As our friends know. this yearbook is commemorating the founding of the high school department in l9I2. At that time the entire school was still in the old school build- ing, and, of course, there was no junior Class. Three of our classmates' parents were in attendance in the Ardsley school at that time: .Iackamena Labascio, now Mrs. A. Anselmo: Filomena Cimino, now Mrs. S. Palermo: and William Brinkerhoff. There was no yearbook published at that time, either. The ARDSLEYAN had its beginning in I922 and has been continued since then with the exception of the years I933 through I935. We hope our friends and supporters will find much of interest and enjoyment in this our I942 ARDSLEYAN. Financially, our problem was to augment our Washing- ton Trip Fund, and to accomplish this, in addition to our club dues, our members sold candy at the weekly basket- ball games. Our parents, by their faithfulness in attending the P. T. A. meetings, won for us on several occasions the P. T. A. award for attendance. This year we elected as our officers: Rosina Mantello, President: Earl johnson, Vice-President: Dorothea Frisch- mann, Secretary, Pauline Lutz, Treasurer. Otherwise, wc remain unchanged except for the welcome addition of two new classmates, Rosemary Harrison and Louis Waddell. So we pass to a new year in the firm belief that we will achieve as great, if not greater, success than we have had this year. Dorothea Frischmann, Secretary FIRST ROW: Geraldine Gorman, john Wright, Flor- ence DeAstis, Donald Rooney, Marion Cimino. SECOND ROW: ,lohn Caporale, Doris Munck, LeRoy Aitken, Pauline Lutz, Warren Brown. THIRD ROW: Victoria DeNardo, Madeline DeRosa, Rhoda Buser, Louis Waddell, Martin Engleman. FOURTH ROW: George Spano, William Groth, C-eorge Furilla, Mary D'Angelo, Carmine Pascone. FIFTH ROW: Betty Gorman, Beatrice Schmidt, Kath- erine Maisano, Robert Blouin, Charles Van Brunt.
