I A HONOR SOCIETY NOTES Since 1923 when the Honor Society started with a membership of twenty six it has steadily increased now showing a total of more than one hundred The Honor Society is always glad to welcome new members so why not be one of them3 The requirements are as follows One year of perfect attendance or certified absence Nine months of high scholarship Proficiency in athletics leadership or Service to the school At the first 1930 meeting an executive committee was elected to be composed of Principal Silliman lVlrs Flint the Society Adviser May Bertlsel son President Conchetta DeRosa Vice President Louise Siciliano Secretary and Treasurer representatives of the following classes Senior class Raffaele DiTerl1zz1 unior class Claire Swanston Sophomore A class Lillian Codlt p Sophomore B class Watson Bell Freshman class Katie Tischendorf Eighth I ongmuir Fifth grade Rodney Ferguson Fourth grade Gloria Canning The Executive Committee decided to have the annual picnic on October l5th l930 Much to the regret of everyone it rained but the picnic took place in the school While the older members prepared the feast the younger members entertained themselves in the gym Squeals of delight came from everyone when they sat down to enjoy hot dogs and punch despite the tact that they weren t roasted over an open fire as it had been planned All avreed that an enjoyable time was had The Seventh Annual Banquet of the Honor Society was held on anu a y 3lst I93I About one hundred people attended the affair including the guests from neighboring schools and the Honor Society members Mr Seely the toastmaster was his usual cheery self with a smile for everyone and wise crack for many The menu was prepared and served by the older girls assisted by Mrs Flint and everal mothers The auditorium was decor ated with the school colors blue and gold The comical and solemn initiation took place later in the ex enmg The Code is As a member of the Ardsley High School Honor Society l pled myself to aid my school in Service Scholarship Attendance Conduct Welcoming Strangers The climax of the evening was the surprise presentation of a Gold torch to Mrs Flint the Adviser of the Society Lillian Codlup 19.11 .a1l'll S' I, IL' Yrl X 7 . . .QJ . , . 2 Y . . 1 : grade, Virginia juilleratg Seventh grade, Albert Munck: Sixth grade, David .
