ORCHESTRA NOTES The year l928 29 has shown marked rmproyement and progress lh the School Orchestra whrch IS now composed of twenty five members Lnder the careful lnstructron of 'Vlessrs Koenig and Reuther we haye added bass xrol and cello players to our organnatron On December 22 the orchestra rn one body attended a Phrlharmonlc Concert ln Carneszle Hall lxe n obserx atlon on the part of the members led to rmproy ement rn playxng before the publrc December I7 marked the annual concert gryen by the orchestra The unlor Chorus consrstmg of about hfty members contrrbuted seyeral selec tlons vshrch were enthusrastrcally recen ed The Schubert Trlo entertained the audience for a trme with many beautlful preces composed by some of the oldest masters The present ofhcers of the Orchestra are Presrdent Ellery Kamke Secretary Helen Berthelson Treasurer Ronald Townsend ln February the orchestra went to lrymgton Hugh School 'where they en tertalnecl the members of the H1 h School Department The orchestra rs now playrng the marches for H S assembhes on Mon day and Thursday of each week as well as for Honor Assemblres Orchestra practices are held on Wednesday and Friday from I2 00 to I2 45 Regents credrts are given to students who have been members of the orchestra for a perrod of at least two years All recruits are welcome BOARD OF EDUCATION We wrsh to extend our thanks to the follovnng members of the Board of Educatxon who haye done so much for us durmg the past year Presldent Clerk Treasurer Counsel 'Vlrs Ruthj Slocum Trustee 'Vlr Asher Edelman Trustee Mrs M T Croehren Mr W C Lawrence Mr C J Muller Mr -I A Wickham Mr W S 'Nlewkxrk Trustee Mr T Eaton Trustee s In ffl .4 If ns 1.
