Joe Gaylord, David Her- rington, Peggy Phillips, Georgia Herrington, Ann Smart, Art Beazley, Benita Bushu, Carolyn Kluesner, Mr. Dunn and Mr. Butler. HISTORY The Student Council is an organizing group which keeps the school running smoothly. It is a non-profit organization which receives its funds for operating expenses from the school board. It sponsors various kinds of programs and entertainment throughout the year. This year they sponsored a dance after the Arcola-Tuscola football game to improve the feeling of sportsmanship and to lessen the rivalry between the two schools. Hot chocolate and doughnuts were served and the high school dance band provided the music. The get-together was a big success. The council also sponsored a safety program concerning a dr1ver's reactions to different driving conditions. A guest speaker and local and state police officers took part in this program along with the students and teachers. The officers of the council this year were President, Dave Herr- ingtong Vice-President, Georgia Herringtong and Secretary, Peggy Phil- lips. The students representing them at the state convention at Chic- ago this year are Ed Hein and Art Beazley.
