PRE51DEN1T HISTORY Sharon Bennett 552. -- TREES, Early in September of l95L, fifty-two new high school students came to Arcola High School. We all started in to high school very green but also very excited and thrilled. After a few weeks we were and able to walk into study hall without an upper-classmen. For the class officers of our first Lyle Johns as presidentg Norman Strader, Bennett as secretary-treasurer. Our fre and Mr. Baker. able to find our way around falling all over ourselves or year at high school we chose vice-presidentg and Sharon hmen advisers are Miss Olson We decided to have pink and black for our class colors. The class flower was a pink rose. Georgia Herrington and Eddie Harshbarger are our representatives to the Student Council. We girls were all excited about the a lot of fun and we all enjoy G.A.A.. G.A.A.initation, it was all Then came Homecoming time. Connie Johns was chosen to be our attendent. For our float we used the theme WThey can't stand the press uren. The theme was carried out by using a pressure cooker on the float. Our class was very proud when our float won Second prize.
