1980 WILDCAT Vol. 35 Archer City High Qchool Archer City, Texas Wildcats. .. ... have at last achieved their goal — the Senior Year. For some this year means the end of regimented learning — for some a year just to enjoy — and for others a springboard to further education. Whatever the emotions of being a senior, this year is one that will be remembered for a lifetime. Also it is a time of wondering about, and perhaps of fearing the future. 3 Wildcats. .. . .. enjoyed an eventful Homecoming as Doris McGregor was crowned Queen. Making up the Queen’s Court were Cindy Schenk, Ellen Loftin, and Mitzi McDaniel. The Wildcats had to accept the stinging bite of defeat as Millsap slipped past, winning 7-6. Wildcats... ... share precious times in the many activities at ACHS. School is a place where friends share trials, triumphs, tears, and laughter. ... find fellowship with friends is a big part of going to school. Friends made during high school will always be remembered. 12 Wildcats. .. ... had a great time as students from each class participated to make the Halloween Carnival a success. To end the happy evening, Lanny Hubbard and Caren Nelson were crowned Carnival King and Queen. 15 17 18 Wildcats. . . .. . enjoy Jr.-Sr. Banquet and Prom. The theme, Love Story, was carried out in beautiful decorations. The juniors wished the seniors well as they finished the year, but began their adult lives. 19 20 HDME □F THE WILDCATS Administrators Guide Successful Year School Board Members, Standing: Willie Willeford; Donald Shearmire, Superintendent; Max Green; Seated: Cecil Fletcher; John Bell, Vice-President; Carter McGregor III, President; Robert Russell, Secre- tary; Arch Andrews. If you guessed eight, you're right. Eight years to locate and purchase the right site, order equipment, plan and build a lignite-fueled power plant, obtain approvals from all regulatory agencies, and then test the plant's operation carefully. It takes even longer for a nudear- fueled plant —10 to 12 years. Right now Texas Electric is having to build expen- sive new plants that generate electridty with coal and nudear fuel. This way, in the years ahead, your generation will have the electricity it needs for a lot or important things— homemaking, jobs, education, health care and deaning up the environment. Building these plants is something we have to do, so that when the need is there tomorrow, the elec- tridty will be there, too. Texas.'
