After falling behind by two touchdowns against another A A team, Henrietta, in the first half, the Cats came back with a great second half effort to win 27-26. Going into Oklahoma, the Cats wrapped up victory number two against the Temple Tigers with a score of 21-7. Opening district play against Knox City, the Cats showed no mercy as they walloped the Greyhounds 50-14. Still alive in district action, the Cats played the defending 1-A Champs, Munday, and with perhaps their best game of the year. Archer edged past the Moguls 15-8. The third district game was against Throckmorton, and the Cats suf- fered their first loss of the season by a 34-20 margin. Playing arch-rival, Holliday without five starters was almost too much for the Wildcats, but they gave that extra determination and won with a 14-13 score. The Cats were knocked out of the district race by Paducah, losing 36-20. Playing their last game of the season, the Cats were the only team against district champs, Crowell, in a losing effort 34-14.
