Valley View failed to make a penetration and got past the Wild- cats 50-yard line only once. Electra's Tigers came to Archer City on September 13, and defeated the Wildcats 26-0 in a game much closer than the score indicated. The Wildcats, down 12-0 at halftime, came back strong in the third quarter, driving to the Tigers' 7-yard line before giving the ball up on downs. Electra added two tallies in the fourth quarter to take home a 26-0 victory. Big rival Olney was next on the schedule. Before a capacity crowd at Olney, the underdog Wildcats picked by the Wichita Falls paper to get beat 52-0, took the opening kickoff and drove 77 yards in 14 plays and scored, added the extra point, and led 7-0 with 3:28 left in the first quarter. Olney came back just before halftime, scored, missed the try for two points, and at half it was 7-6 Archer City. The third quarter was score- less, and in the fourth stanza Olney punched across two tallies; Archer City scored once, leaving the final score Olney 20 - Archer City 15. The Wildcats dominated the game and led in all the statistics, but the Cubs came out on top. Knox City played host to the Wildcats in a non-district contest on September 27. Knox City, a regional finalist in '63, led the Wildcats 8-7 at the halftime. The Wild- cats came roaring back after intermission, scored 4 quick touchdowns and coasted in for a 33-14 triumph. The Greyhounds scored against Wildcat reserves with seconds remain- ing for their second touchdown. Cross-county rival Holliday was the next Wildcat foe. Holliday had won 9 of the last 10 encounters with the Wildcats, including a 38-6 drubbing in '62. The Wildcats opened the district race in fine fashion by blasting the visiting Eagles 48-8, with Holliday scoring against the Wildcat reserves in the last quarter. The Wildcats blasted Paducah in the next district contest 41-0 to stay undefeated in district warfare. The Cats completely dominated every phase of the game. Always-tough Crowell was next on the schedule and the Wildcats played them at Crowell. Both clubs were undefeated, and after a very tough ball game, the Wildcats emerged with a 13-0 victory. After a week's rest, the Wildcats visited Chillicothe, who had defeated Crowell the week before. The Wildcats rolled over the Eagles 46-0, allowing the Eagles only five first downs and 44 yards total offense. On November 8 the Wildcats traveled to Munday to meet the defending champions. The Moguls had lost only one game, that being to Henrietta. The Wildcats ran for 302 yards and blasted Munday out of the district race 27-6 in one of the finest ball games of the year. On November 15, before approximately 3, 000 fans, the Wildcats were defeated by Henrietta for the district 11A championship. After a scoreless first quarter, Henrietta scored and led 8-0 at halftime. The third quarter was scoreless, and with 6:02 remain- ing in the game, Henrietta scored and took the district crown by a score of 16-0. For the '63 season the Cats were 5-1 in District and 7-3 overall. The 5-1 district record was the best in the School's history, and the 7-3 overall was the best mark posted by a Wildcat eleven since the early 50's. The team was composed of 5 seniors, 8 juniors, 4 sophomores and 7 freshmen. ALL-DISTRICT WILDCATS ROBERT TEPFER JOHN RUTHERFORD Guard Soph. Def.
