The members are elected by the public and the clerk is appointed to his office. The term of office is four years. Three new members were elected to the Board this year. They are Mr. Evan Bertsche, Mr. Dale Nafziger, and Mr. Dale Pape. Past members of the Board of Education: Mrs. Fern Schrock, Mr.Bud Rupp, and Dr. William Neal 5

SUPERINTENDENT MR. J. H. SPENGLER Mr. Spengler has been associated with Archbold High School for twenty-nine years, and has been superintendent for eighteen of those years. Students who do not know Mr. Speng- ler personally should recognize him as the man behind the voice on the announcements. The superintendent is the business manager of the school. His responsi- bilities include ordering all books and supplies for the entire year, keeping the school properly staffed, organizing summer school activities, and handling any expenses which accumulate over the year. Mr. Spengler has also been active in educational organizations outside Arch- bold. He has been Vice-President and President of the Northwestern Ohio Edu- cator's Association. One of Mr. Spengler's favorite re- sponsibilities is attending the National Science Fair every spring. Rubinoff and admirer
