Y sc e X Science The Science Department endeavors to offer the students courses in various fields of science in order, not only to allow him to fulfill his science requirements for the State of Louisiana, but also to give him a solid background in a chosen field in college. Social Studies The nature of Social Studies in American schools today is to focus on people, on the world and onthe relationships between the two. In brief, the social studies are those instructional courses, programs, and proiects that are designed to assist students to understand, analyze, react to, and act upon three things: ll J the relationships of human beings to the world in which they live, l2i The relationships of human beings to othersy i3l The relationships of human beings to themselves. Through a carefully constructed curriculum, ranging from scripture study to personality development, from morality to comparative religions, from worship to social problems. Math The Math Department offers students the required two years of academic math and the option of a 3rd, and 4th year, together with an advanced placement program, which carries the student through a complete year of calculus, during his stay at Rummel. The courses at Rummel are not only challenging, but also tailored to student's mathematical ability. Fine Arts The Fine Arts Department was established to provide aesthetic experiences for the Rummel community. Art is provided in oil painting, ceramics, crafts, and exhibits throughout the year. Public speaking, and radio and television experiences are also provided for by the communications department. The Drama Club provides experiences in comedy, tragedy, and original productions.
