Key Club The Key Club has completed one of its most successful years at Rummel. The club began the year by hosting the international convention. Almost 3,000 delegates from every corner of North America converged on New Orleans. 5O Years of Caring . . . Only the Beginning. . . was the international theme. This theme set the goal for the coming year. With this goal in view, the Rummel Club undertook proiects that served not only the school, but also the community. Under the leadership of senior officers Chris Bucher, president, Arthur Bayer, vice president, and Jim Lapre, treasurer, the Key Club participated in numerous proiects: The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, a fund raising drive for St. Michael's Special School, a Key Club celebration at St. Louis Cathedral, the Cystic Fibrosis Cyclethon, and many other proiects. The Key Club ended its administrative year at the district convention in Lake Charles. At the convention the Rummel scrapbook won first place in district competition and advanced to international competition. Also at the convention, Tony Tramonte won the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District award for Outstanding Lieutenant Governor.
