Homecoming After months of preparation, planning, and anticipation, Homecoming had finally arrived. As the week started the spirit began to build up, and the final adiustments were made. During this period the Freshmen endured the ordeal of initiation for the last week. By the time Friday came, the Homecoming festivities were at their peak. The pep-rally, in the gym, began the ceremony with the introduction of the Homecoming Queen, Sharon Padua, and her court. After a speech by Wayne Nosacka everyone filed out to the field where the bon-fire was ignited. The Freshmen threw their beanies into the blazing inferno as a sign of their acceptance into the Rummel community. The night ended with the Soc Hop in the gym. But this was only the beginning. On Saturday, hundreds of alumni returned to the ole alma mater to inhance this spirit-filled occasion. The motor-cade and parade, consisting of thirty beautifully decorated cars, proceeded to East Jefferson Stadium where Rummel played and beat Chalmette in the Homecoming game to the tune of 7-O. At halftime Sharon Padua was crowned the 1975-1976 Homecoming Queen. All was over until the court met again on November 22 for a more formal celebration, the Homecoming Dance.
