J.V. Track The I976 edition of the Raider J.V. Track team has one outstanding characteristic that should go a long way in providing a fine nucleus for the varsity team. They were consistent, finishing no lower than 3rd in any meet this year. Although Rummel lacked the depth to win district, many outstanding individual performers surfaced. With determined individual effort they should become a fine track unit in the near future. RIGHT: Lou Dominguez and Paul Lagarde race to the finish line over the low hurdles. Soccer For the second year in a row the Raider soccer team captured the district title with 7-1-1 overall record. Under the coaching of Brother Alphonse Le Blanc, the team overcame inconsistent play early in the season to advance to the city play-offs for the third consecutive year. Rummel, however, failed to capture the city championship as they lost in the playoffs to Country Day, the eventual city Champs in a game that saw 90 minutes of non-stop action, the Raiders were defeated by the Caiuns l-O in sudden death overtime. Led by captains Allen Buiol, Casey Geohegan, and Brian Smith, the Raider offense racked up a respectable 20 goals in nine games while the defense allowed only 4.
