The win streak which gave the Raiders a 5-2 second round record also gave them the chance to become district runners-up. Coach Robarts and company seemed more than ready to take on the challenge which included defeating St. Augustine and De La Salle on successive nights. St. Augustine was number one on Rummel's list as they put them away easily, 64-52. The long awaited state playoffs were one victory away for the Raiders but it was not to be as Rummel was beaten by the Cavaliers, 60-45. The Raider Roundballers finished the season with a 20-l l slate. Individual honors were brought home by Billy Schaefer, who was chosen to First Team All- District and Al Thibodeaux, who was chosen to First Team All-Defensive Team.
