SISTER MARIE DAVIDICA—Though it is often said that history repeats it- self. students of United States History and Problems of Democracy firmly believe that history-makers never do the same thing twice. They do believe that history is interesting, though, because Sister teaches through discussion and not just facts. MR. JOHN J. DABAGIAN—His playful jibes and sharp wit play an important part in his teaching methods, for he makes sure that learning is not all work, but some play. Teaching Spanish I. Latin II. and French III takes up most of his day. but Mr. Dabagian still finds time to coach the junior varsity basketball team and the base- ball team. He is also assistant disciplinarian. FATHER PASQUALE R. CATULLO—His freshman religion classes sit in awe as Father hypnotizes them with stories of saintly men and women. Father’s twinkling eyes attract students of all ages to the cluttered, minis- cule room which he calls the Athletic Office. Besides head- ing the Athletic Department. Father is also moderator of the exclusive photography club.

SISTER KATHLEEN MARITA—Under Sisters watchful eye. the newspaper always manages to get out four times a year. And. because of her watchful eye. the Mirror last year obtained first honors in a nationwide rating service. Sister also displays her unique talent as a teacher in her Office Practice. Typ- ing I. and Typing II classes. FATHER JOSEPH A. SCHNORR—“All right, today we're going to have another quickie!” Although famous for both his “quickies” and his “tickets.” Father spends more time an- swering the pressing problems of today’s Catholic youth in his Religion III and IV classes than he does writing detentions. Occasionally. Father shows movies to instruct his students in the Christian way of daily living, but to do this. Father says one must respond to his urgent plea—“Bring in more green stamps . . . please?” SISTER JULIAN IMMACU- LATA—“Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails . . That’s not what Sister is made of. though. She merely uses them as teaching aids in her biology and IPS classes. Using nature as her text- book. Sister makes science more than words—she makes it fun.

MR. JOSEPH D. MUR- RAY—Well-known for his slave-driving tactics and esot- eric tests. Mr. Murray found out this year what it’s like to be on the other side of the desk. Working on his thesis for his Master’s degree, he frequently had to post- pone his famous quizzes un- til a later date. His World Culture and Problems of De- mocracy students didn’t mind too much, though, because Mr. Murray made learning world culture and the na- tion’s problems interesting through frequent group dis- cussions. SISTER ST. PAUL—Sister teaches English II this year, and insists that she was really a teacher before she became a music director. Although her ability as a teacher is not questioned. Sister is better known for her accom- plishments in the field of music. In fact Sister is so adept at conducting the orchestra and glee clubs that many feel she deserves the “Golden Finger” award. MR. EDWARD A. GIVNISH—His phys ed class works out in the gym for what seems to them to be eternities; his modern European history classes have found that other countries besides ours have an im- pressive past. Mr. Givnish is best known, hosvever. for his great success in coaching our varsity basketball team. Under his careful tutelage, the boys on the squad always go “all the way.” SISTER CATHARINE ANITA—Sister is the mainstay of our Commercial Depart- ment. Using the latest in office equipment. Sister instructs her typing and stenography classes in the values of speed and efficiency. Sister is also moderator of the business club.
