Sec.-Treas. ............,..,....,...,..,.. Janet Stewart Yell Leader .. Arch McDowell i , The Freshman Class this year has seemed to be athletically in- 5, clined. Of course, little can be prophesied, but it is to be hoped that , 5 the enthusiasm will last. The members of the class, have notf only ' participated in sports, but have also been loyal supporters in the rooting section of all the games. Football came rather early in their high school career, but they were there, taking it all in, and future teams will show what they learned. Both the girls and the boys played basketball with usual beginners' success. The Freshmen showed they were afraid of nothing, even Sen- iors, when the girls calmly defeated the Senior volley-ball team, and Q the boys evened up by showing the upper class team a few points in baseball. .sm As usual, tennis proved interesting to the new class, and this f year a few places on the school team properly belonged to the Frosh. ,Gi However, athletics was not the only interest of the class of '30, Class history, under the leadership of Mrs. Meade, shows some lively meetings lead by the two semester groups of officers. It also reveals l a beginning made in dramatics, an almost universal interest in music, and an active' membership in many school organizations. , -2 ' V' , lx, -W-lakh V A K gg

Katherine Donnelly The year just completed has proved a big one for the class of '29, It is difficult to find any one outstanding feature of the many activities they participated in, but music may easily be conceded a prominent place in Sophomore history. One-fourth of the band is composed of Sophomores. As upper classmen usually maintain a majority in most school activities, the Sophomores may well be proud of this representation. The school orchestra also has a large Sophomore membership. Much music for the school dances is furnished by Sophomores, showing their ver- satility. In athletics, Sophomores are, of course, active. When limited basketball is mentioned, the class of '29 at once comes to mind. Football, track, tennis, and baseball-all hold Sophomore interest. Dramatics forms another phase of Sophomore zest, as illustrated in Twelfth Night and 'Op-0-Me-Thumb. Music, athletics, dramatics-these accomplishments show that the Sophomores have not lacked school spirit. Rather, they have furnished a great deal of it in completing their duties as under-class- men. ,.,!
