I'd have to answer them with the 1977 Fall Festival. Until you've actually participated in the annual festival as a candidate, you cannot imagine the warmth, happiness, and the excitement (especially the excitement) which awaits you. The day I was chosen for Senior Queen Candidate, I just couldn't believe it. I was crying so much, I didn't even hear my name announced! To thinx the boy's thought enough of me to elect me as their candidate really made me feel great. The next two weeks I was kept busy shopping for my costume, my coronation dress, making posters, practicing my talent, and trying to make sure everything went just right. The parade has to be the most fun of all. Riding through town on a float you are so proud of, throwing candy, and waving to everyone. Finally, the big night arrives. Back stage is utter confusion. I would have rather done anything in the world that night than to go on! I was so nervous, I don't even rememoer being on stage. When we were finally all seated and they began to announce the results, my stomach felt so jittery! I was so happy! My hard work and my classmates hard work had all paid off. So, to any of you future candidates, I wish good luck! It's an experience I'm sure you'll appreciate! DEDICATION is being a student who tries to learn and applies himself regardless of the limitations there might be. RESPONSIBILITY is doing what you think is right, then accepting the consequences when you are wrong. PRIDE is remembering who you are and where you came from and always striving to do better.
