Terry Nichols presents the Senior Gift to the school—a new school flag. GRADUATION 1977-It was hot. In fact it was really hot. The weather seemed to have waited until Graduation night to really turn on the heat. Attorney General John Ashcroft urged the high school Seniors to get turned on and amount to something. He also urged them to get on the most wanted list, not the FBI list but to get on a list of doing something good for America. Mr. Smithmier presented awards to the Seniors and then it was time for the climax to 12 years of long work for the Seniors as they received their diplomas from Board president John Komar. It was time for the newest members of the AV alumni to move ONWARD, ONWARD, AS LIFE CONTINUES ON ITS WAY. If you stick me. I’ll punch you. John Ashcroft, Attorney General of Missouri, delivered the commencement address at the 1977 graduation.
