Student The AVHS Student Council is designed to provide an opportunity for students to experience leadership. The members that are elected soon find out that there is a lot of hard work involved. The Student Council spon- sors the Bloodmobile twice a year and encourages students to participate as donors. They also sponsor the Homecoming dance, Regional Tournament ads, and several other projects. This year some members attended the District Student Council Convention where they participated in group discussions and picked up many new ideas. A few members also attended the State Student Council Convention in Waynesville and brought back many suggestions on how to make the council more organized and efficient. Also, this year a PAC was formed. This committee had weekly meetings with the principal and discussed various subjects. It is felt that these meetings were very successful.
