To the Senior Class 1968-69: Superintendent Young friends, you are to be commended on having successfully passed the first milestone in your formal education. You have proven to yourselves and to others that you have the will to persist, a quality which is required to succeed in life. Before you lies a wonderful world posing glorious opportunities never experienced by any generation proceeding you, plus many challenges and an era of competition the like of which has never been faced before. To enjoy this to the ultimate you must live each golden moment as if it were the last, life cannot be hoarded, it must be spent day by day in worth- while accomplishment. Bear in mind and practice the virtues of mankind that should be, love of humanity and country, faith in the hope for the present and tolerance, then above all an infinite trust in a power greater than self. This trust can lift you when you are low and restrain you when you are flambouyant. Ever bear in mind to search for truth and cling to that which is good, and in the end keep ever present in your mind these few words spoken by the late John F. Kennedy, ‘‘Let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking God’s help and His blessings, knowing full well that God’s work here on earth must truly be our own.” 7
