Se u i4 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 2, 1957, ninety-six green Freshmen entered the halls of Ironton High School. We were active in basketball, pep squad, chorus, band, volleyball, and baseball. The carnival, which was the biggest event during all four years of attendance, was well re- presented by our class. Our candidates were: Sue Stringer, Freshman year; Paula Thurman, Sopho- more year; and Flora Jones for our Junior year. August 29, 1960 found sixty new Seniors returning to Arcadia Valley High School. The class really proved itself in the magazines sales, making a profit of 830.35. As Seniors, Jo Anne Poinsett represented our class very well at carnival time. Although we came in fourth in both cicket sales and queen contest, we ran away with the float contest by taking first. Our theme was ’’Japanese Paradise.” Our Senior Play, ’’Curtain Call for Clifford,” was a high school comedy in three acts, and was enjoyed by all. Then there was the lovely prom ’’Wonderland by Night,” given us by the Juniors in which the decorations, refreshments, and orchestra were immensely enjoyed. So as we leave our Alma Mater, we carry with us many memories of the past years, and we are grateful for all that has been done for us. 14
