9u tuor OFFICERS: FRONT ROW: Patty Barnes, Sue Lee. BACK ROW: Tommy Baldwin. Randel Leach. Jimmy Moses, Doug Ross. On September 6, 1954, sixty-five Juniors returned to Ironton High School. They were very determined that this would be a good year. Their sponsors for the coming year were: Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Slover, Mr. Penturf, and Mr. vVitges. At Carnival time Jo Ann Allmon was their choice as queen candidate. Their float was “Garden of Roses.” Both the float and Jo Ann came in second. The first big money making project was the eats and drink stand at the Thanks- giving Basketball Tournament. They did very well. The next project was the Junior Play. This year it was given on March 11 and was entitled “One Mad Night.” Everyone who attended enjoyed it very much. The Junior candidate for Student Council President, Doug Ross, was elected to serve for the school year 1955-1956. The Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 7, 1955. The theme was “Garden of Roses. ” The Juniors helped give the “April in Paris” all school party on March Z6 w ith the Sophomore Class. The Juniors on the honor roll all four quarters were: Tom Baldwin, Patty Barnes, Ed Douglas, Jim Moses, Barbara Oppermann, Barbara Robbs, Shirley Sims, and Norma Warren. 26
