Senior Class History When the Senior Class of 1951 entered Ironton High School as Freshmen they had an enrollment of 44 girls and 40 boys. It was the largest enrollment of a Freshman Class up to that time. At graduation time the Senior Class of '51 had an enrollment of fifty-six. The class officers were: Presiaei.............................Bob Bryson Vice-President.......................Jim Signer Secretary...............................Jane Huff Treasurer..........................Ruth Parker Student Council....................Lyn Caringer Shirley Steele The class has taken part in all contests. It supported the Annual and School Carnival all four years. It has sponsored three all school parties. The basketball team will lose nine players, all of whom are of the first ten. They are Bob Bryson, Bud Short, Carl Degonia, Tom Archambault, Jim Signer, Gerald Becker, Herman Nichols, Don McKee, and Beryl Adams. The volleyball team will lose five players, Ruth Parker, Shirley Steele, Dorothy Bennett, Margaret Cox, and Mary Savage. The band will lose nine members, Juanita Wood, Bob Bryson, Jim Signer, John Buchanan, Ann West, Carol Worley, G. K. Hunt, Ira Ann Lewis, and Shirley Steele. In 1950 the class gave a three act play, June Mad”, which was enjoyed by everyone. The proceeds of the play were used for the Junior-Senior Prom, given in honor of the Seniors in the spring of '51. The gymnasium was beautifully decorated using the theme of “Spring Time”. The Senior play, “Aunt Cathie's Cat”, was a mystery-comedy and proved to be entertaining. The proceeds of the play went to help finance a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 19
