'7,Ae Gmdfml 4-H CLUB In November 1939 the Arcadia 4-H Club elected the following officers: President Alvin Vinayardg vice-president Lois Manning, secretary Louise Burrowg game leader Charles Biuellg song leader Jimmie Lee Burrow. Aft- er Jimmie Lee moved away Dorothy Baker was elected to take her place. On February 23, 1940 we entered the recreational contest at Putnam City. We placed third in songs and fourth in both games and stunts. On March 23 our three class A girls entered the team demonstration con- test at Edmond. Louise Burrow and Lois Manning placed in the blue rib- bon group on their demonstration. Two class A boys, Alvin Vinyard and Winston Cleek, placed in the blue ribbon group on their demonstration. Alvin was reserve champion on his timely topic. One week later, on March 30th, four class B girls and two class B boys entered the class B contest. They were Beth Simpson and Dorothy Bakery Wanda Dugger and Claribell Hensleyg Bobby Wickham and Lloyd Keasling. April 13th, was the style review and baking contest in Oklahoma City. Lois Manning, Louise Burrow, Barbara Sweat, Mercedes Roberts, Claribell Hensley and Wanda Dugger entered. Lois and Barbara placed first in their dresses. Barbara placed first in baking. Lois and' Louise were in the blue ribbon group. This has been a beneficial and successful year for the 4-H Club. We have had as our coaches, D. P. Hayhurst and Ina Hammon. The Ar- cadia Farm Women's Club sponsor, Mrs. K. W. Baker.
