'Zh Glafulwal GRADE OPERETTA CHRISTMAS IN THE CIRCUS On December 22, 1939, one of the outstanding features of the year was presented- the grade school operetta. The story of a circus was portrayed. Tony, Toto and the ringfmaster were feeling very sad because Santa had not answered a wire sent him, asking him to visit the circus. They decided to have a rehearsal in case he should surprise them. While they are getting the troupe together to rehearse, Santa slipped in and hid and enjoyed the rehearsal. At the end of the performance Santa made himself known, treated them all to candy and after leaving a large pack of presents departed wishing a merry Christmas to all. Miss Mahler, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Underwood and Mrs. Sipe were the direc- tors. Costumes were designed by Miss Hammon. L. B.
