Trustees and Officials worked increasinglu fl EARL S RICKER President DR WILLIAM M STAERKEL Superintendent FOLLOWING THE PASSAGE of a bond providing 51,925,000 for the construction of a new iunior high school on the former Oberly Estate, the Board of Educa- tion moved swiftly to approve plans for it and the en- largement and rehabilitation of First Avenue and Richard Henry Dana Intermediate schools to accommodate grades 7-9 during the 1960-61 school year. During the year lust closing, William O. Merritt be- came a member of the Board. He replaced Fordyce W.
