Coronafion Ceremonied ln Ar-We-Va's Auditorium there were musical strains of a royal processional. On this October l at 2:00, four beaming couples entered the gym to the pulsating rhythm of the band. The first couple was the crown bearer, Julie Bish, and the envelope bearer, Jay Luetje. The last three couples were com- prised of the Homecoming candidates and their escorts. They appeared in the following order: Becki Brotherson escorted by Ron Coffin, Gail Koch by Dave Maasen, and Linda Vetter by Gene Magill. Mistress of ceremonies, Linda Fagen, began the afternoon program by introducing a humorous skit which was presented by a group of Ar-We-Va students. Directly following the skit, Rev. Vernon D. Gunderman, of the Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, delivered an inspirational mes- sage of victory. F inally, the long awaited moment arrived! Miss Gail Koch was named second attendant, Miss Linda Vetter as first attend- ant, and Miss Becki Brotherson was crowned Queen of the l965 Homecoming festivities. Following the crowning, Rodney Bell, presented Queen Becki with the game ball and one dozen long-stemmed, red roses. Becki then strolled between the kneelingfoot- ball squad and gave a brief acceptance speech. The program was terminated with the cheerleaders leading the student body in a rousing pep rally. The evening festivities began withQueen Becki presenting the game ball to the team. The game was followed by a dance which was enjoyed by all.
