MONG the centers of Christian learning in Canada a high place must be given to the colleges conducted by the Basilian Fathers At the left we see pictured buildings of three of the Canadian colleges First is Elmsley Hall the men s residence of St Michael s College St Michaels was founded in 1852 at the request of the Bishop of Toronto In 1888 it entered into federation and was officially declared a College in the Faculty of Arts of the Univer- sity of Toronto It enjoys equal rank with the other Federated Colleges. St Thomas More was established in 1936 at Saskatoon Sas- katchewan and is an affiliated college of the University of Saskatch- ewan The new building of St Thomas More was blessed and formally opened on March 7 1957.
