Upon entering Aquinas last September the students sensed a strange emptiness about the school. The school was as it had been except for one very outstanding feature. Sister Stella was no longer at Aquinas. Ever since Aquinas first opened its doors, Sister Stella has been a part of Aquinas. Our fathers remember her for she taught many of them. Sister did everything she could for Aquinas, she never ceased praying for her students. Spirit in Sister Stella's boys was always high as was proven every year when her homeroom gained honors. She never came to a football game or ever saw one of our basketball teams in action. Yet, she did more for them than anyone-she prayed for them. She prayed that they might have good weather and never suffer injuries but never for victory for that was God's choice. In grateful acknowledgement of all you have meant to Aquinas, we wish to pay tribute to you, Sister M. Stella, R.S.M.

In the Spring of 1953, His Holiness Pope Pius XII appointed the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Lawrence B. Casey Titular Bishop of Cea and Auxiliary to the Bishop of Rochester. This was a fitting honor to be bestowed on a man who has served his Creator so faithfully. Ordained a priest in june 1930, he was soon appointed Vice-Chancel- lor. For a number of years he also acted as secretary first to Archbishop Mooney, and later to Bishop Kearney. The title of Right Reverend Mon- signor was conferred on him in 1947 when he was raised to the rank of Domestic Prelate. The year 1953 found him rector of Sacred Heart Ca- thedral. The following year he was consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester to aid Bishop Kearney in carrying out Christ's commandg Go ye therefore and teach ye all nations. Since this time, we the people of Rochester have grown to realize the great honor given to us when Bishop Casey was appointed to this position,
