Fr. Duggan, priest, principal, counsellor, friend, has directed our feet along the way to God, helping us through the years as awed freshmen, egotistical sophomores, sage juniors, and sedate seniors. Because of his untiring efforts,scintillating humor.and adroit guidance, we have cherished each year with him. We consider him not as the stolid principal but as the John Bosco of Aquinas. No greater friend of boys can be found than this Man of God who has dedicated his life to Youth. The greatest loss to he experienced by the class of ’48 will he to lose the companionship of him who has understood our problems, helped us in time of need, and defended us in time of trouble. Our greatest gain will he the assurance that under his firm but friendly guiding hand, we have, in the past four years, been trained to go into the world as stalwart Catholics, to spread the cause of Christ in whatever vocation we choose. We cannot express in words our sincere gratitude to him who has in every possible w ay enabled us to advance in wisdom, and age, and grace before God and men.”
