dedication The Thomist staff respectfully dedicates this yearbook to His Excellency, the Most Reverend Allen I. Babcock, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, in honor of the tenth anniversary of His Exce1lency's consecration. Bishop Babcock's interest in college students has been demonstrated in the past by his assignments as assistant at St. Mary's Student Chapel at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, vice rector at North American College in Rome. and rector at St. Mary's Student Chapel in Ann Arbor. In September, 1954, His Excellency laid the cornerstone of the new Administration Building of Aquinas College and in Octo- ber, 1955, blessed the completed addition to the college. The Bishop's concern for the welfare of Aquinas College and his sanction of the accomplishments of the school have been an encouragement and inspiration to those who strive to main- tain the reputation of Aquinas. ' To His Excellency we dedicate this record of the past aca- demic year and pledge our loyalty as students of Aquinas College and members of the Diocese of Grand Rapids. 2
