training the mind and forming: the habits of the young. At Aquinas, the needs of the boy are recognized. He must grow up and be able to live in a sufficiency of comfort as to material possessionsg he must learn the art of living socially with his fellow human be- ingsg his body must grow and be strong: so that a mind and a heart will not be impeded in the quest for truth and happiness. The boy must learn to face difficulties squarely and to be strong: in shun- ningr evil in all its various formsg he needs to know and appreciate the sanctity of the home and respon- sibility of building: his own domestic societyg his whole soul must be nourished with the vitalizing truths about Almighty God and the glories of the true Church and his country. This task is pre- eminently the work of priests like our own Domini- can Fathers. This is the direct counter-plan to the dangers that are within our land today. The fac- ulty, trained in the best traditions of the Dgminigan Order and by the Universities of this country, is ever ready to point the way that will lead to a sane and wholesome life. The boy at Aquinas is taught the fundamental and primary lesson of lifeg namely, that hc must learn to prepare him- self for what he must be and for what he must do here below in order to obtain the sublime end for which he was created. This is the direct counterplan to the world order set up by the axis dictators. Since Christian education is concerned with such a noble objective, the unsurpassed excellence of this training is clear. The Dominicans are conscious of their responsibility to God and country. This is evidenced by the proper education of the young in their care. They know of no greater work than P. A. BACLEY, O.P. REV. I. G. PRECOURT, O.P. REV. F. L.
