Polarion Salutes We, the Class of 1980, would like to give a special thanks to someone who is a vital part of the life of our school. Because one of the avowed purposes of education is to close the distance between administration, faculty, and students, this person has done so much to bridge that gap. It is with much respect that we salute Mrs. Bea Wilcoxen, secretary.

' I [ The four towns remaining drew up preliminary agree- ? ments and things seemed to be running smoothly. The t I ■ B ; agreements were put to vote in each of the four towns 1 ' which was common practice at the time. Lakeville and f Freetown supported the issue very strongly, but there j» seemed to be problems with Rochester and Berkley. The r J I vote in Rochester was very, very close, but for unknown I reasons, Rochester pulled out of the group and later joined Marion and Mattapoisett to form the Old Rochester I District. Berkley was problem in itself. They voted the issue down the first time but asked for another chance. The Regional Committee agreed to allow Berley to poll the issue again, but there were several conditions on the agreement. The Committee was going to draw up two contracts, one including Lakeville, Freetown, and Berk- ley, and the other including only Freetown and Lakeville. They would vote on the first contract and if Berkley again voted it down, they would vote on the second. Berkley voted the issue down, and thus, Apponequet for the towns of Lakeville and Freetown.
