Mr Herbert H Helble Principal Q I Mr. Werner Witte Assistant Principal Faculty Mr John P Mann Superintendent of Schools We live in a world of flying Sputniks zooming Pioneers and beeping satellites. These scientific advances and our continual population growth have presented educa- tional problems to authorities all over the country. Appleton is no exception and our adminis- trators have relieved the congestion at A.H.S. by utilizing the cafeteria as a substitute classroom the auditorium as a study hall and our larger classrooms for double classes. Despite these measures the seniors have had to be excused during most study periods be- cause of a shortage of space. The administration also continues to solve such perennial problems as authorizing up-to- date textbooks maintaining high scholastic standards budgeting school funds and pro- viding school personnel. Oui most recent educational problem is that of revising the curriculum to meet the needs of the space age and our accelerated program. They provided leadership I g If F' lx W 3 fs X 4
